“Off-the-Shelf” Custom Configured Medical Power Supplies

Continuing to exploit unique modular topologies, Excelsys’ Xmite Series of 200 / 400 / 600 watt medical approved power supplies are the latest in end-user configurable power supplies.  These supplies offer users custom outputs that they can configure them selves in a few minutes while maintaining all safety agency approvals. Typical applications include, medical lasers, monitoring systems, radiological imaging, clinical diagnostics and chemistry.

Measuring only 10.54 x 3.50 x 1.59”, the Xmite Series is safety qualified to UL60601-1/ EN60601-1 for medical applications.  The Xmite family consists of 3 powerPac chassis rated at 200W, 400W or 600W which may be populated with up to 4 powerMod output modules offering DC outputs ranging from 1.5~58 VDC.  Universal AC input with active PFC and powerful status & control functions like remote on/off, remote sense, current share, voltage trim, and power good signals make this power supply ideal for system developers.  A combination of low loss technologies with planar magnetics and surface mount technologies enables 90% efficiency reduced thermal dissipation of more than 50% over conventional designs .

Gary Duffy, Managing Director of Excelsys Technologies, comments. “Our new Xmite range is the most flexible power supply in the medical market with unrivalled efficiency and power density. System designers may configure the exact power supply they require off the shelf, with no custom design or NRE charges”.
